Change begins at the end of your comfort zone. - someone, somewhere.
Hannah here, and this is the first of many blogs. I would like to tell you my story from the beginning of my passion for hair, to do that let’s take you backwards into my high school days.
I am 15, newly dumped, I have been coloring my hair black from Sally’s for THREE years straight. Heartbroken: I needed change. My mother being the understanding woman she was, booked me an appointment with her friend. Turns out this friend was so fantastic at her job she was able to build a luxury salon off her house to just take “special” clients. I felt like royalty, asked a billion questions and there started the idea that Hairstylists can make a successful career doing what they love.
Jump to 16, Blonde, hustling working 35+ hours a week at my moms property management company, babysitting on the weekends, I even started a “spray tan business” and learned everything I could about them, got my marketing strategy from my moms friend. Which is where my drive to earn money came from. I have seen my mom work hard my whole life and always own her own business. There is always more, you can always be better, she taught me I am in control of my destiny.
19, older and least favorite age. I felt like nothing was going right, and with no savings, no resources I made it work, I moved back to Chico, and signed up for school. Cosmetology school was the best decision I ever made, it helped me leave a toxic situation, find life long friends, start my journey in doing what I love. I will remember the women I met in school and the fun times I had.
That concluded the end of my teen years. I would love to say I look back and miss them but I am the happiest I have ever been right now. And it only gets better from here.
xoxoxo, gossip girl.
